OCR response to TES article on OCR Nationals

An article entitled 'Course of 'doubtful' value has become a favourite' which appeared in the Times Educational Supplement (TES) on Friday 15 December 2010 correctly points out that since 2003 OCR Nationals has grown to be the fourth largest qualification in the UK.

Unfortunately, the article also refers to a very old OFSTED news story that teachers debunked nearly a year ago. If you were an OCR Nationals teacher at the time it is likely that you received a letter from Paul Steer, (PDF, 90 KB) our Stakeholder Relations Director. Paul's letter is as valid now as it was then.

As the fourth largest qualification in the UK there are a lot of teachers who have a lot of very positive things to say about OCR Nationals:

In fact we have a whole host of references that teachers are more than willing to share. These clearly demonstrate how OCR Nationals is all about students of all abilities undertaking independent learning in order to gain valuable qualifications for both work and further study.
